Generating Excitement with Elementary Students in Online Learning
As most of you, we were suddenly forced to teach remotely. This is not an easy task for young learners: the little ones are restless and their attention span is quite short. So then, how to engage and motivate our young learners through our computers? It may appear to be a very difficult task but here we are to share our experience and all those strategies that really worked for us. Although this course is aimed at teachers of young kids (Pre Kinder, Kinder, and Grades 1, 2), some of the strategies can be adapted to older students. We have included a set of downloadable materials to help you get started and some further information we believe will be valuable for you. We hope you find all these tools useful and you can soon put them into practice!
About the instructors
Hi there! We are Gisela and Belén, two EFL/ELL teachers from Buenos Aires, Argentina. In addition to our Bachelor degrees in English Teaching, Belén has a B.A. in Educational Sciences and Gisela has a B.A. in Advertising. We have been working with young children for over 17 years and we believe our course will help you a lot to jazz up your remote lessons while teaching to young learners. We have been trying these strategies for the last months and they work!
